Côa Valley Archaeological Park
Created - November 1995.
World Heritage Site - classified by UNESCO in December 1998.
A unique site in the world, with open-air rock art, from the prehistoric and more recent times. It contains the largest set of open-air Palaeolithic art currently known.
The Park includes part of the municipalities of Vila Nova Foz Côa, Mêda, Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo and Pinhel.
