The make-up of the secondary sector has undergone change in the last 50 years, consisting of a decrease in the share of activities related to manufacturing industry and the growth of the workforce employed by the construction and public works sector. The production and distribution of electricity, gas and water recorded a 2% increase in employees over the same period.
