Water consumption in the region in 2007 varied. Almeida municipality had the highest consumption of the region - 120m³ per inhabitant, while Vila Nova de Foz Côa municipality only recorded 35m³ per inhabitant. Almeida, Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, Freixo de Espada à Cinta, Sabugal and Trancoso municipalities all recorded water consumption figures above the national average (47m³ per inhabitant).
