The region’s facilities and infrastructures are mainly concentrated in the municipal capitals, one of the few exceptions being those located in the town of Vilar Formoso (Almeida municipality).
In 2007, all municipalities had sports complexes, swimming pools, football pitches, cinemas, performing arts halls, auditoriums, municipal museum and internet connection points.
Almeida, Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, Sabugal and Vila Nova de Foz Côa municipalities published periodical newspapers and magazines covering regional topics.
